Story
Marigolds and Moonview were found abandoned inside the Maplelands' territory at a few years old, but were likely not birthed by anycat in the group; at least, nobody has stepped forwards to claim them. While Moonview was assimilated into the group easily, Marigolds found it much harder due to her loud, opinionated personality that many cats found annoying. Moonview was always very shy and introverted, even more so after his eyesight began to fail and he could not see the expressions of who he was speaking to. Marigolds was the extrovert, helping him to make friends and loudly talking over any awkwardness he felt until it dissipated. They were incredibly close up until their naming ceremony at 13 years old, when Marigolds was chosen to be a messenger. This role meant she must spend most of her life running between camps, delivering messages. She will be forever estranged from the others and will, by nature of the role, have a significantly harder time making any meaningful relationships. As she and Moonview grew apart in distance, they also grew apart in closeness.
Marigolds quickly met another messenger, Maplefall of the BoundaryCats. She quickly grew very attached to him, choosing to go out of her way to travel with him even when they were delivering messages to completely different groups. She even decided that they must be destined for romance, given their unique roles. Maplefall quickly grew tired of this, thinking her clingy and annoying. To her dismay, he actually preferred spending time with her brother. She overheard him speaking with Moonview one day, admitting to finding her bothersome and tiresome, and asking Moonview for advice on how to deal with her. Now, she and Moonview had had a rather bad fight just a few days prior, and since she had to leave for her messenger duties it was never resolved, instead left to fester and grow bitter over the days. So, Moonview, giving in to sibling pettiness, indulged Maplefall in tales of all the times Marigolds had upset him, and told him he best stick with him if he hoped to escape Marigolds's emotional outburst. Marigolds burst from the undergrowth, and a big verbal fight ensued between the three of them, Maplefall taking Moonview's side.
Since then, Marigolds and Moonview have only spoken a few times; most of these were Marigolds spitting insults his way before stalking off. the final meeting as of now was held in the northmost reaches of the Maplelands' territory, during which Moonview attempted to apologise and remind Marigolds of all the good times they had, only for Marigolds to pretend these nice times never happened, and to leave him sitting alone on the edge of the woods.
